Job Description:
The Epic Report Writer’s role is to successfully serve as the primary support contact and expert for Epic reports.

Responsibilities include:

  • Configure, build, and produce Epic reports
  • Coordinate all issues that arise during the project for reporting purposes
  • Analyze work flows
  • Understand policies, procedures, and constraints of the clinical or business operations related to reporting
  • Investigate and document operational and report specifications
  • Analyze new releases to determine report modifications
  • Build and populate databases and tables during system configuration
  • Conduct report testing and data validation
  • Develop and document internal procedures
  • Establish change control processes for development, modification, and retirement of reports
  • Develop training aids and train end users in the use of reports and reporting functions
  • Troubleshoot problems that arise in regards to end user reports and reporting functions

Job Requirements:

  • Must have at least two years experience developing Epic reports
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must understand database concepts including table and field structure and Boolean logic
  • Excellent logic, verbal, and math skills
  • Epic certification
  • Willingness to travel 75%
  • Experience in unit, application and end to end testing
  • Technical and functional knowledge
  • Ability to work in small groups under tight project deadlines
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to effectively present information to clinical and business leaders within the organization
