Job Description:
The Pharmacy Builder supports the installation and maintenance of the electronic medical record and other clinical information systems within an assigned specialty. Duties include reviewing and converting pharmacy orders from paper into the system.  This position interacts with other Clinical Systems Analysts and coordinates with end user departments in the implementation and daily operation of clinical systems. The Pharmacy Builder must have previous experience building pharmacy orders as well as experience with the utilization of SMM FP1.

Responsibilities include:

•  Review results of previously conducted EMR future state design sessions and current state assessments
• Under the direction of the Lead Orders Pharmacy Analyst and assistance from CPOE consultant, meet and review specifications with designated physician advisory groups
• Utilization of Eclipsys SMM FP1 is required
• Configure the EMR according to specifications identified by the physician advisory groups and future state design decisions
• Unit test configuration changes made
• Meet with physician advisory representatives to review system build and obtain sign-off
• Document future state workflow processes for effected departments, seek opportunities to streamline such processes
• Collaborate with Integration/Interface team on testing
• Provide input for functional and integrated test scripts
• Execute functional and integrated test scripts as required
• Correct issues/defects identified during unit/functional/integrated testing
• Retest issues identified during unit/functional/integrated testing
• Provide input for the development of the education and training programs
• Serve as a resource for questions/issues identified during end user education and training
• Correct issues/defects identified during the system activation period
• Implement system “enhancements” as approved by the appropriate project related committees.

At Excite, we value your unique background and want to be sure your experience matches the job.  For the Allscripts Pharmacy Builder position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Bachelors degree preferred, health care related field preferred
• Related coursework in information systems preferred
• Three years experience in a healthcare environment and two years experience information technology management of clinical systems is required
• Prior experience with Allscripts/Eclipsys Sunrise Medication Manager (SMM) and Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) Manager V5.5 FP1 or above highly preferred
• Prior experience with configuration of Sunrise Clinical and Medication Manager Order sets highly preferred
• Willingness to travel 75%
• Technical and functional knowledge
• Ability to work in small groups under tight project deadlines
• Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to effectively present information to clinical and business leaders within the organization
